This beautiful assemblage by Linda Lovatt has a teal-coloured hare sitting on a shard of vintage pottery. Hes gazing up at a singing nightingale in a bird cage hung from a stunning copper tree. Behind the tree is a silvery crescent moon. Below are the words Bird song by moonlight. Lindas quirky pieces are handmade using copper and brass sheet, broken bits of pottery, beads, buttons and anything pretty. The copper is aged with chemicals to give it the beautiful verdigris colour. Each one of these assemblages is a one-off, as Linda uses different treasures to make each one. They have a feeling of found objects woven together with a little magic to make a piece of a fairytale. A fantastic and unusual gift, this piece comes in a white-washed box frame and would look wonderful on any wall or stood on a mantel piece.
