Mini glass ball stud earrings with gold leaf - lapis by Helen Chalmers
This sweet little pair of vibrant glass ball stud earrings are embellished with flecks of 24 carat gold leaf. We think they look like continents floating on the earth, so they're the perfect gift for a loved one who means the World to you. They’re sure to match your favourite outfits!
The earrings are handcrafted by jeweller, Helen Chalmers in her studio in Edinburgh, Scotland. The are made in a torch flame and carefully annealed in a kiln overnight to prevent any breakages. The backs are Surgical Steel, a completely safe and hypo-allergenic metal. The steel backs are fused into the glass while it is still hot, so no glue is needed.
As the earrings are handmade the size of glass varies slightly between 5 and 7 mm, but is consistent within the pairs.

About Helen Chalmers
Helen Chalmers creates glorious, technicolour glass earrings using lampwork in her studio in Edinburgh. The diverse colours of the world are the main inspiration for Helen's collections. Her pieces are evocative of travel, exotic places and wanderlust.
The versatility of hot glass means that a wide colour palette and an infinite variety of decoration and form is possible. Fine details and accents are created by the use of enamels, gold, silver and manipulated glass.
The use of hot glass and supplementary materials created by an oxygen/propane mix flame is known as 'lampworking'. This technique dates back to Ancient Egypt, where oil lamps were the heat source. Lampwork differs from fusing and casting in that the whole making process is by hand in the flame, before being kiln annealed for strength and durability.
