Shelly Perkins illustrations of the Malverns, Cotswolds and the animal world
Shelly Perkins incredible illustrations of Malvern, the Cotswolds and wildlife have been much loved by our customers at iapetus. Shelly's images start with strong line drawings, which she transfers to her computer and then layers the images with scanned found and made textures to develop an idiosyncratic, organic feel. These elements, coupled with an emphasis on the play of light and shadow, come together to define her individual style. Each image is printed to a very high quality on fine textured paper.
Shelly began her formal illustration training at the UWE Bristol Art School. During that time she developed a great affection for the picturesque Cotswolds, Worcestershire and Herefordshire areas, which led to her beautiful illustrations of these local towns and villages. Shelly has been commissioned by BBC Wildlife magazine to create illustrations to accompany journalist Richard Mabey's column in the publication, as well as illustrations for children's stories, and we are delighted to have these varied works on show.
At iapetus we spend a lot of time carefully sourcing and picking the pieces we offer.
